Easter weekend started off with breakfast with my family, followed by a very quick photo shoot of all three girls in their bunny ears. It is not easy getting three little girls to pose, especially with ears on! Here’s the best shot I found on my camera:
After hanging out with my family for a little bit, we headed out for the three hour drive to see Jason’s family. When we got there, Elise got to see her cousin’s new baby horse (which she called a dog) and all of her grandparents’ cows (which she engaged in a stare-down). Sunday morning we got Elise dressed up in her Easter dress and went to church. She looked so adorable!
After a nice Easter lunch with Jason’s family, we headed back home. The weekend went by so quickly!
In other news, we have not sold our house yet It is rather exhausting trying to keep our house perfect-looking at all times, so I hope we get an offer soon! Keep your fingers crossed though because we have a showing tomorrow morning- maybe this will be the one.
After quite a few not-so-subtle hints that I need to update my blog more frequently, I knew I needed to get something up before the end of March. I can’t even believe how busy our lives have been this month! March started off pretty ordinary- Elise got in lots of play time with cousin Addison, then gave her a big kiss goodbye so that Addison could spend time with her mommy and new baby sister:
I fell in love with my new niece Samantha:
And then we decided to put our house on the market. It all happened really quickly, so we were complete maniacs for a couple weeks (putting in a new privacy fence, cleaning, packing up clutter, etc.). We have had a couple of showings since it was listed two weeks ago, but no offers yet. Our goal is to try to sell our house and get under contract on a new house (preferably the one we fell in love with last weekend) by the end of April in order to take advantage of the tax credit. Wish us luck!
Elise is not too keen on the idea of moving, especially since it meant we had to pack up a lot of her toys: (The top she is wearing is one of mine from when I was a baby!)
Hope you all had a great month and are enjoying the warmer weather!
On Saturday we celebrated my niece’s second birthday at her Blue’s Clues themed birthday party. I am a complete failure at taking pictures lately, but my uncle emailed me this adorable picture of Elise with Blue’s ears on and it was too cute not to post.
It was a great party; adorable birthday girl, delicious food and cake, good company- what more could we ask for?
Elise’s latest skill is one that, at first, was really cute. Now, it’s just getting downright dangerous and scary and I don’t know what to do about it. It started innocently enough, with Elise climbing on top of storage bins and laundry baskets. Then last week Jason found her like this in her bedroom, pulling all the baby wipes out of her wipe dispenser:
Certainly it was scary finding her like that, but not nearly as scary as when she figured out how to climb on top of the kitchen table, as evidenced by this video:
I don’t know what to do about it! I can’t turn my head or leave her alone for five seconds without her getting into some sort of precarious situation. I’m hoping she gets over this climbing thing soon!
I have been scoping out swimsuits for Elise for a couple months now (I guess I need to get out more). I kept debating one-piece vs. two-piece, and the two-piece won out; it just makes mid-swim diaper changes so much easier. The other day we were at the mall and Baby Gap was giving out 40% off coupons, so I figured I had to pounce while I could get a good deal. That night, I decided to let Elise try on her new suit and she loved running around in it. Literally. I could barely get a picture of her because she was so wound up! The first five pictures are some variation of this:
I found this little gem of a picture as I sorted through all the blurry running shots: Doesn’t she look like she’s saying, “Hey girl, check out my new suit! Don’t you love the fishies? I know, I look super adorable.”
